Asceticism
Ascetyka
Asceticism is a branch of theology which deals with the shaping of the Christian spirituality through asceticism. This is, according to The Theological Dictionary, a theological discipline that deals with the situation and the tasks of a concrete Christian life in terms of its individual realization, which distinguishes it from both mysticism and moral theology. The term appeared in 1655 - was introduced by Ch. Dobrosielski in the work of Summarium asceticae et mysticae theologiae. ↑ Karl Rahner, Herbert Vorgrimler, The Small Theological Dictionary, PAX Publishing Institute, Warsaw 1987, ISBN 83-211-0828-8 ...
