Firn - transitional form between snow and icecream. Density: 0.4-0.8 g / cm3. It results from the transformation of loose snow crystals into aggregates of ice particles up to several millimeters in diameter. This process occurs during multiple floods, followed by freezing of snow. The pressure of the overlying layers - that is, the cumulative snow - is also insignificant. Footnotes ...
