In the cave called Makpel there are the tombs of the Patriarchs and according to the tradition of the remains of Abraham. This is a place of pilgrimage for Muslims, Christians and Jews. In Hebron there is also an oak, called the Oak Abraham, under which Abraham's tent was traditionally held. The area was bought in 1866 by the Russian Orthodox Church and located in the vicinity of the tree the monastery of the Holy Trinity and Saints Praojców. Hebron is surrounded by a wall, almost twelve meters high, erected by Herod the Great. Teren ten wykupił w 1866 Rosyjski Kościół Prawosławny i zlokalizował w sąsiedztwie drzewa monaster Trójcy Świętej i Świętych Praojców.
