Matronalia

Matronalia - Roman feast celebrated by married women March 1. During the Matronali women went to the grove of the Temple of Junon at Akivilina. The goddess sacrificed flowers and prayed for happiness in marriage, while at home they were offering refreshments to their slaves. On that day, men gave gifts to their wives. Matronalia – rzymskie święto obchodzone przez zamężne kobiety 1 marca. Podczas Matronaliów kobiety udawały się do gaju przy świątyni Junony na Eskwilinie. Składały bogini w ofierze kwiaty i modliły się o szczęście w życiu małżeńskim, zaś w domu wyprawiały poczęstunek dla swoich niewolników. Tego dnia mężczyźni obdarowywali swoje żony prezentami.
