Menander

Menander

Menander - an ancient Greek poet, chief representative of the new comedy and character comedy. He came from a family that provided him with thorough education and education. He was a pupil of Teofrasta and a friend of Epikura, with whom he most likely served military service. A great comedian, Aleksis, had a great influence on his interest in the theater. He was an admirer of Euripides's stage work, which he modeled for him, and he sought to emulate, of course, in his own way. Menander is thought to be susceptible to charms. His lover was probably Glyker's hetero, Harpalos lover. Menander died tragically in Piraeus, aged 51 or 52, melt while swimming. He is the author of 108 comedies, lost at the end of antiquity, and in recent centuries found among Egyptian papyri. Four of them have been reconstructed. Menander – starożytny poeta grecki, główny przedstawiciel komedii nowej i komedii charakterów.
