Negentropia

Negotropy - in the theory of systems and cybernetics - a measure of the degree of organization. This is the difference between the maximum possible value of entropy - corresponding to the total disorganization of the system and its current value. In the disorganization of the system, negentropia decreases while entropy increases and vice versa, the growth of the organization is always accompanied by an increase in negentropia. Using the notion of negentropy, attempts were made to explain the functioning of living organisms. It was to describe the phenomenon of "exporting" entropy outwardly by living organisms and complex technical devices, in order to maintain low levels of internal entropy. In 1943, Erwin Schrödinger used the notion of negative entropy in a popular science-fiction book, What is life ?, to illustrate this phenomenon in a more "positive" way: the body imports from outside the negative entropy and stores it inside. However, in this view, it is only an alternative way of describing a phenomenon that can be described using known quantities - entropy and free energy.

Negentropia – w teorii systemów i cybernetyce – miara stopnia organizacji. Stanowi różnicę pomiędzy maksymalną możliwą wartością entropii – odpowiadającą całkowitej dezorganizacji systemu, a jej aktualną wartością. Przy dezorganizacji systemu negentropia maleje, podczas gdy entropia wzrasta i – na odwrót – wzrostowi organizacji odpowiada zawsze wzrost negentropii. Za pomocą pojęcia negentropii próbowano wyjaśnić funkcjonowanie organizmów żywych, miało ono opisywać zjawisko "eksportowania" entropii na zewnątrz przez żywe organizmy i złożone urządzenia techniczne, w celu utrzymania niskiego poziomu własnej, wewnętrznej entropii. W 1943 roku, Erwin Schrödinger użył pojęcia ujemnej entropii w popularnonaukowej książce pt. What is life?, aby zjawisko to zilustrować w bardziej "pozytywny" sposób: organizm importuje z zewnątrz negatywną entropię i składuje ją wewnątrz.
