Parma Parma is a town and comune in the province of Parma in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. 174 thous. residents. The capital of the province. It was founded in 183 BC as a Roman colony. In the years 1545-1860 Parma was the capital of the Principality of Parma, ruled by the Farnese dynasty and later by the Bourbons. The city has many valuable sights. Parma is the home of two prominent Renaissance painters - Correggio and Parmigian. Parma comes from the most famous Italian cheese - Parmesan cheese. There is a football club currently playing in Serie A - AC Parma. The airport of Parma is named Giuseppe Verdi.

W latach 1545-1860 Parma była stolicą Księstwa Parmy rządzonego przez dynastię Farnese a następnie Burbonów. W mieście znajduje się wiele cennych zabytków. Parma jest ojczyzną dwóch wybitnych malarzy renesansowych – Correggia i Parmigianina. Z Parmy pochodzi najsłynniejszy ser włoski – parmezan. W mieście działa klub piłkarski grający obecnie w Serie A – AC Parma. Lotnisko w Parmie nosi imię Giuseppe Verdiego.
