Psoriasis

Łuszczyca

Psoriasis - a chronic, recurrent skin disease that is characterized by the occurrence of scaly skin on the skin. This disease is one of the most common dermatological diseases - affects 2-4% of the population. It is estimated that psoriasis affects 16 people per 1000 population. There are no predictions about sex. Psoriasis is a genetically conditioned disease with multiple genomic inheritance. The incidence of one single identical twins gives 70-80% of the occurrence of this disease to the other. In the case of twins, the risk is reduced to 15-25%. Psoriasis in one parent puts the offspring at risk in 25%. When the disease affects both parents, the risk is up to 60%. The main role in pathogenesis is played by immune factors, abnormal functioning of immune system components - T lymphocytes and cytokines secreted by them. There are also common pathogenic mechanisms in psoriasis and in heart and vascular diseases. Psoriasis is a non-infectious and benign disease. W przypadku bliźniąt dwujajowych ryzyko spada do 15-25%. Łuszczyca u jednego rodzica obarcza potomstwo ryzykiem zachorowania w 25%.
