Sikhizm

Sikhism - a religion founded in the 15th century in India in the Punjab province. Its founder was Guru Nanak. There are around 24 million followers of this religion in the world today - they live mainly in Punjab, but they also have a multimillion-dollar diaspora distributed throughout the former British Empire and in the United States. The most important place of worship is the "Golden Temple" in Amritsar, where the original sikh holy book Sri Guru Granth Sahib is kept. Sikhizm – religia powstała w XV wieku w Indiach w prowincji Pendżab. Jej założycielem był Guru Nanak. Obecnie na świecie jest ok. 24 milionów wyznawców tej religii – żyją oni głównie w indyjskim Pendżabie, ale posiadają także liczną kilkumilionową diasporę rozsianą po krajach dawnego Imperium Brytyjskiego i w USA. Najważniejszym miejscem kultu jest „Złota Świątynia” w Amritsarze, w której przechowywany jest oryginał świętej księgi sikhów zwanej Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
