Stratosfera

Stratosphere - second bottom layer of the Earth's atmosphere, located above the troposphere and under the mesosphere. It starts at about 10-20 km above the surface of the Earth and ends at about 45-55 km. At the bottom of the stratosphere there is almost constant air temperature, starting at 30-50 km, the temperature increases as the height increases. The temperature in the upper part rises to 15 degrees Celsius. In it there is a layer of ozone, which is responsible for the absorption of ultraviolet rays reaching the Earth from the sun. Stratosphere concentrates about 21% of air mass. There are iridescent clouds in it. The first man-made object to reach the stratosphere was a cannonball fired from the Paris War during the First World War. There are two meteorologists exploring the stratosphere: the Frenchman Léon Teisserenc de Bort and the German Richard Assmann.

Stratosfera – druga od dołu warstwa atmosfery ziemskiej, położona nad troposferą, a pod mezosferą. Zaczyna się od wysokości ok. 10-20 km nad powierzchnią Ziemi, a kończy na wysokości ok. 45-55 km. W dolnej części stratosfery panuje prawie stała temperatura powietrza, począwszy od wysokości 30-50 km temperatura rośnie wraz ze wzrostem wysokości. Temperatura w górnej części wzrasta do 15 stopni Celsjusza. W niej znajduje się warstwa ozonowa, która odpowiada za pochłanianie promieni ultrafioletowych docierających do Ziemi ze Słońca. Stratosfera skupia około 21% masy powietrza. Występują w niej chmury iryzujące. Pierwszym stworzonym przez człowieka obiektem, który dotarł do stratosfery, był pocisk armatni wystrzelony z działa paryskiego podczas pierwszej wojny światowej. Odkrywcami stratosfery są dwaj meteorolodzy: Francuz Léon Teisserenc de Bort i Niemiec Richard Assmann.
