Muscovite, Muscovite or Muscovite is a mineral of the phyllosilicate group, with the molecular formula: KAl2O102. Muscovite is characterized by well-marked basal cleavage and is distinguished from biotite in a hand sample because it is colorless. According to the impurities present, the moscovite may be colorless, light brown, salmon or pink. It is a very common mineral in granites. They appear in the film Journey to the Center of the Earth, where the sensitivity of this mineral is characterized. It is also known to be very thin and any weight change on it can cause cracking and even breakage. Aparecem no filme Viagem ao Centro da Terra, onde se caracteriza a sensibilidade desse mineral. Ela também é conhecida por ser muito fina e qualquer mudança de peso sobre ela pode causar rachaduras e até quebrar.
