WHAT DOES OSTEOMALACIA MEAN IN PORTUGUESE?

Osteomalacia

Osteomalacia is the weakening and demineralization of mature bones, usually due to a deficiency of vitamin D. The growth of normal bone requires an adequate supply of calcium and phosphorus through food, but the body can not absorb these minerals without a sufficient amount of vitamin D. The body gets this vitamin from certain foods and needs sunlight on the skin to process it properly.
