Sitar

Sitar is a musical instrument of Indian origin, which belongs to the lute family. It is a symbol of Indian music. To clarify the difference between the sitar and the sitar is that this and the members of his family are classified as a type of chordophone that, their strings extend next to the resonance box. Already the lute and its family like, sit, sitar or veena, has its cords stretched beyond the resonance box, that is, in an arm. Tweaked string instrument, such as guitar, banjo, zither and lute, among others. It stands out for its metallic sound and glissandos. The name "sitar" comes from the Persian, and means "three-string", which is an allusion to the original form of the instrument. Currently the sitar presents a great number of strings, usually eighteen, being the same subdivided into three categories: the chords of execution, the strings of score or score, and the sympathetic or sympathetic chords. The execution and embroidery ropes always constitute a total of seven, however the number of each category can vary, being three of bordão and four of execution, or vice versa.
