Elem., 16; Lexicon, 53; Türk, I, 263; Cihac); cf. bg. belčjug, v. sb. bĕlĭčugĭ, sb. biòčug, beòčug, „verigă de ușă”, rus. belčug. Totuși, cuvîntul nu este sl., ci tc., cf. Berneker 48. Cuvîntul mr. se explică prin contaminare cu tc. bilezik „brățară” › rom. belezic (Șeineanu, II, 46), care a circulat, de asemenea, deși puțin, cf. alb. beljezik, bg. belezik.
