The physician (v. Griech: chief archieatros = principal healer; archiater) is a person who deals with the prevention, recognition (diagnosis), therapy and the consequences of illness and accident. A doctor is a female doctor. The high number of diseases, as well as the large number of possibilities for treating them, has led to the division of human medicine into several specialties where dentistry occupies a special position.
