A strophe is a combination of lines in a poem that have a certain metrical, rhythmic, intonational-syntactic structure and are united by rhyme. Initially, in the tragedy, the song of the choir, performed when it moved from left to right before the turn; subsequently a system of 2 or more lines of verse text, in which the verses are arranged in a given sequence; every repetition of such a sequence is a new stanza.

Строфа́  — сочетание строк в стихотворении, обладающих определённым метрическим, ритмическим, интонационно-синтаксическим строением и объединяемых рифмой. Изначально, в трагедии, песнь хора, исполнявшаяся при его движении слева направо до разворота; впоследствии система из 2-х и более строк стихотворного текста, в которой стихи располагаются в заданной последовательности; каждое повторение такой последовательности является новой строфой.
