Zira kendi fikir ve iddiasının mutlak doğru olduğunu ileri süren her kişi veya sistem dogmatiktir. Yani bu bağlamda; belirtilen görüş, bilgi ve yargıda, eleştirilmezlik, tartışılmazlık, değişmezlik ve net kesinlik olduğu takdirde, bunlar dogma denilir. Özellikle metafizik öğretilerin tümü inakçı öğretilerdir. Deney alanının dışında kalan bütün savlar inakçı olmak zorundadır. Zaten bir başka izah ile dogmatizm, aklın kesin ve mutlak bir değere sahip olduğunu böylece mutlak bilgi ve varlığa ulaşılabileceğini ve bunun sonucu olarak da bilginin metafiziğinin mümkün olduğunu ileri süren felsefi akımdır.
