Jaguar is a New World mammal that is one of the four widowed felines of the Panthera genus and the family of the felines. Three other big cats, the tigers of the Old World, the lion and the parchment. The jaguar, the third largest cat after the tiger and lion, is the largest and strongest cat of the Western Hemisphere. Jaguar today has an area scattered from Mexico to Central America and south of Paraguay to northern Argentina. Spotted cats are more physically similar to parcels, but with a stronger structure, more behavioral and habitat features, closer to the tiger. Although the habitat he prefers is crushed, he lives in various areas, from woodland to open land. Jaguar günümüzde Meksika’dan Orta Amerika’ya ve Paraguay’ın güneyi ile kuzey Arjantin’e kadar dağılan bir alanda bulunmaktadır. Benekli kedi, fiziksel olarak daha çok parsa benzese de daha güçlü yapısı, davranışsal ve habitat özellikleri ile kaplana daha yakındır. Tercih ettiği habitat cengel olsa da, ormanlık araziden açık araziye kadar çeşitli alanlarda yaşar. Genel olarak su kenarlarında bulunur ve kaplan gibi yüzmekten hoşlanan kediler olarak dikkat çekerler. Jaguar genel olarak yalnız dolaşan, avını izleyip pusuya düşüren bir avcıdır ve avını seçerken fırsatçı davranır. Aynı zamanda ekosistemi dengelemek ve av türlerinin nüfuslarını kontrol altında tutmak konusunda önemli rol oynayan hem süper hem de kilittaşı avcıdır.
