In Greek mythology, Sirens or Seirens are sea creatures believed to have lived in a siren called scopuli. In some different stories, they are told that they lived in Cape Pelorum or in the name of Anthemusa, now they are living in the Sirenus islands near Paestum, or in Capreae. All of these places are described as surrounded by cliffs and rocks. The mariners wandering around here were fascinated by the sirens' song and drove the ships toward the rocks and they were fed to sirens. Sirens, unlike marines, have two queues. They are described as the girls of Achelous. Although Homer did not say anything about the numbers, the writers later addressed both their names and their numbers. Sometimes Aglaopheme, Ceysi and Thelxiepeia were mentioned; Peasinoe, Aglaope, and Thelxiepeia. The numbers are usually between two and five and their names are usually Thelxiepia / Thelxiope / Thelxinoe, Molpe, Aglaophonos / Aglaope, Pisinoe / Peisinoë, Ceysi, Parthenope, Ligeia, Leucosia, Raidne, and Teles.
