Кріобіологія
Cryobiology - branch of biological science, which studies the structural and functional properties of biosystems of different levels of organization under the influence of low temperatures; gives a biological background for the development of preservatives, equipment and technological processes of cold preservation and lyophilization; Studying biological and physico-chemical phenomena occurring in cryobiological systems at stages of low-temperature preservation. Scientific fundamentals of cryobiology were developed at the end of the 19th century by Russian scientist P.I. Bakhmetiev. Кріобіоло́гія — галузь біологічної науки, яка займається дослідженням структурно-функціональних властивостей біосистем різного рівня організації під дією низьких температур; дає біологічне обґрунтування для розроблення консервантів, обладнання та технологічних процесів холодового консервування і ліофілізації; вивчає біологічні та фізико-хімічні явища, котрі відбуваються в кріобіологічних системах на етапах низькотемпературного консервування. Наукові основи кріобіології розроблені в кінці XIX-го століття російським вченим П. І. Бахметьєвим.
