Alidada
Una alidade o un tablero de giro es un dispositivo que permite vislumbrar un objeto distante y usar la línea de visión para realizar una tarea. Esta tarea puede ser, por ejemplo, dibujar una línea en una tabla plana en la dirección del objeto o medir el ángulo del objeto desde algún punto de referencia. Los ángulos medidos pueden ser horizontales, verticales o en cualquier plano elegido. El uso principal de la alidade es para crear mapas en el plano horizontal. La alidade fue originalmente una parte de muchos tipos de instrumentos científicos y astronómicos. Al mismo tiempo, algunas alidades, particularmente aquellas usadas en círculos graduados como en astrolabes, también fueron llamadas dioptrías. Con tecnología moderna, el nombre se aplica a instrumentos completos como la mesa plana alidade.
