Anagoge
Anagoga, a veces deletreada anagogy, es una palabra griega que sugiere una "subida" o "subida" hacia arriba. Lo anagógico es un método de interpretación espiritual de declaraciones literales o eventos, especialmente la exégesis bíblica que detecta alusiones a la vida futura. Algunos teólogos medievales describen cuatro métodos de interpretación de las Escrituras: literal / histórico, alegórico, tropológico y anagógico. Hugo de San Víctor, en De scripturis et scriptoribus sacris, distingue la anagoga de la alegoría. En una alegoría, un hecho visible es significado por otro hecho visible. Por otra parte, con respecto a una anagoga, a partir de un hecho visible, se declara un invisible. Los cuatro métodos de interpretación apuntan en cuatro direcciones diferentes: El literal / histórico hacia atrás al pasado, el alegórico hacia el futuro, el tropológico hacia abajo a lo moral / humano y lo anagógico hacia arriba a lo espiritual / celestial.
