El Redpoll ártico, conocido en Norteamérica como el Redpoll Hoary, es una especie de pájaro en la familia Fringillidae del pinzón. Se cría en el bosque de abedules de tundra. Tiene dos subespecies, C. h. Hornemanni de Groenlandia y partes vecinas de Canadá, y C. h. Exilipes, que se reproduce en la tundra del norte de Norteamérica y Eurasia. Muchas aves permanecen en el extremo norte; Algunas aves migran cortas distancias al sur en invierno, a veces viajando con Redpolls Común. El binomio conmemora al botánico danés Jens Wilken Hornemann.
