Awayday es el término utilizado en los negocios británicos para una reunión, a menudo de todo un departamento, proyecto o equipo de ventas, que se lleva a cabo fuera del sitio y lejos de los asientos regulares de los participantes, por lo general durante todo un día o un fin de semana. Sin embargo, puede referirse a una reunión dentro de un día en una habitación sin ventanas en el lugar. La intención es permitir que la reunión se centre en la tarea particular que se está llevando a cabo sin que los participantes se distraigan por las demandas que, si la reunión se llevara a cabo en el lugar de trabajo, se harían normalmente en su atención en virtud de sus posiciones. El término deriva del nombre dado a un billete barato del ferrocarril de vuelta del día después de que el precio por tiempo del recorrido fuera introducido en la red ferroviaria británica en los años 60. También se utiliza en referencia a un equipo del balompié que juega un juego lejos de su tierra casera, y los ventiladores que hacen el viaje al juego refieren a él que es un 'Awayday' debido al hecho que están planeando su día alrededor del juego ausente del balompié .
