Calcinación
La calcinación es un proceso de tratamiento térmico en presencia de aire u oxígeno aplicado a los minerales y otros materiales sólidos para provocar una descomposición térmica, transición de fase o eliminación de una fracción volátil. El proceso de calcinación se lleva a cabo normalmente a temperaturas por debajo del punto de fusión de los materiales del producto. La calcinación no es el mismo proceso que el tostado. En tostado, se producen reacciones más complejas gas-sólido entre la atmósfera del horno y los sólidos.
