QUÉ SIGNIFICA CONTINUATIVE EN INGLÉS
Aspectos continuos y progresivos
Los aspectos continuos y progresivos son aspectos gramaticales que expresan una acción incompleta o un estado en progreso en un momento específico: son aspectos no habituales e imperfectivos. En las gramáticas de muchas lenguas los dos términos se utilizan indistintamente. Este es el caso del inglés: una construcción como "Él está lavando" puede ser descrita como presente continua o como presente progresiva. Sin embargo, hay ciertos idiomas para los cuales se distinguen dos aspectos diferentes. En chino, por ejemplo, el aspecto progresivo denota una acción actual, como en "se está vistiendo", mientras que el aspecto continuo denota un estado actual, como en "él está usando ropa fina". Como con otras categorías gramaticales, la semántica precisa de los aspectos varía de un idioma a otro, y de gramática a gramática. Por ejemplo, algunas gramáticas de turco cuentan la forma -yor como un tiempo presente; Algunos como un tiempo progresivo; Y algunos como un aspecto continuo y progresivo.
