Heteronomía
Heteronomía se refiere a la acción que es influenciada por una fuerza fuera del individuo. Immanuel Kant, basándose en Jean-Jacques Rousseau, consideraba tal acción no moral. Es el contra-opuesto de la autonomía. El filósofo Cornelius Castoriadis contrastó la heteronomía de la autonomía al señalar que mientras todas las sociedades crean sus propias instituciones, las sociedades autónomas son aquéllas en las que sus miembros son conscientes de este hecho y se autoinstituyen explícitamente. En contraste, los miembros de las sociedades heterónomas atribuyen sus imaginarios a alguna autoridad extra-social.
