Ispahan, Ispahan, Esfahan o Hispahan, es la capital de la provincia de Isfahan en Irán, situada a unos 340 kilómetros al sur de Teherán. Tiene una población de 1.583.609 y es la tercera ciudad más grande de Irán después de Teherán y Mashhad. La Región del Gran Isfahán tenía una población de 3,793,101 en el Censo de 2011, el segundo área metropolitana más poblada de Irán después de Teherán. Las ciudades de Zarrinshahr, Fooladshahr y Najafabad, Se-deh, Shahin-shahr, Mobarakeh, Falavarjan y Charmahin constituyen la ciudad metropolitana de Isfahan.
