Un meteorito es un pequeño cuerpo rocoso o metálico que viaja por el espacio. Los objetos entrantes de más de varios metros pueden explotar en el aire. Si un meteoróide, un cometa o un asteroide o una parte de él soporta la ablación de su entrada atmosférica y los impactos con el suelo, entonces se llama un meteorito.
