El inglés no tiene optativo morfológico, pero hay varias construcciones con significado optativo. Uno usa el verbo modal puede, p. ¡Que tengas una larga vida! Otro utiliza la frase si sólo con un verbo en el pasado o pasado subjuntivo, p. ¡Si yo fuera rico! Otro utiliza el presente subjuntivo, p. ¡Dios salve a la reina!
