Polycrates
Polycrates, hijo de Aeaces, era el tirano de Samos de c. 538 AC a 522 AC. Tomó el poder durante una fiesta de Hera con sus hermanos Pantagnotus y Syloson, pero pronto Pantagnotus mató y exilió a Syloson para tomar el control completo para sí mismo. Entonces se alió con Amasis II, faraón de Egipto, así como el tirano de Naxos Lygdamis.
