QUÉ SIGNIFICA RESUSCITATE EN INGLÉS

Reanimación cardiopulmonar

La reanimación cardiopulmonar es un procedimiento de emergencia realizado en un esfuerzo por preservar manualmente la función cerebral intacta hasta que se tomen más medidas para restablecer la circulación espontánea de la sangre y la respiración en una persona que está en parada cardiaca. Está indicado en aquellos que no responden sin respiración o respiración anormal, por ejemplo, respiraciones agonales. De acuerdo con las directrices del Comité de Enlace Internacional sobre Resucitación, la RCP incluye compresiones torácicas de al menos 5 cm de profundidad ya un ritmo de por lo menos 100 por minuto en un esfuerzo por crear circulación artificial bombeando sangre manualmente a través del corazón y, por lo tanto, del cuerpo. El socorrista también puede proporcionar respiraciones ya sea exhalando en la boca del sujeto o la nariz o utilizando un dispositivo que empuja el aire en los pulmones del sujeto.
