Velites
Los velites eran una clase de infantería en el ejército romano de la mitad de la República. Velites eran infantes ligeros y escaramuzas que estaban armados con un número de jabalinas ligeras para arrojar al enemigo, y también llevaron espadas de empuje cortas, o gladii, para el uso en cuerpo a cuerpo.
