El hinduismo (en sánscrito: Dharma Sanātana (eterno), también conocido como Dharma Vaidika (Veda)) es una religión o filosofía derivada del subcontinente indio y sus alrededores. Esta religión es la religión más antigua conocida en el mundo. El principal libro religioso son los Vedas, divididos en cuatro libros principales, Rig Veda, Veda Yajur, Sama Veda y Atharva Veda. El término hinduismo abarca una variedad de pensamiento y filosofía, así como ceremonias caritativas muy diferentes. La mayoría de los hindúes le rezan a varias deidades, y consideran a estas deidades como encarnaciones de un gran Espíritu monista de Brahman (Brahman), mientras que muchos otros devotos se dedican a un concepto de adivinación para Brahman (Señor), por ejemplo Vaishnavismo , Saivisme y simbolismo. El hinduismo es la tercera religión más grande del mundo, con cerca de 900 millones de creyentes (número 2005). Alrededor de 890 millones de ellos viven en India.
