Setelah kerajaan Kole tumbang, Kole dikenali sebagai Teluk Dalam kerana kuala amat besar seperti teluk dan selamat kepada kapal-kapal yang berlindung daripada topan dan ribut yang sering berlaku di laut selat Melaka. Teluk Dalam juga mempunyai kerajaan dan tercatat dalam Hikayat Malim Deman, Hikayat Malim Dewa dan Hikayat Malim Buana. Mereka ialah putera-putera raja tiga beradik Kerajaan Teluk Dalam.Teluk Dalam kemudian bertukar menjadi Muar sebelum kemunculan zaman kerajaan Majapahit. Kemudian menjadi sebuah negara yang pernah dikalahkan dan dijajah oleh kerajaan Majapahit.Nama Muar kekal sehingga ke hari ini.
