Ancak buna rağmen günümüzde de trajediler yaşanmaya devam etmektedir. Örneğin, 1990'lı yıllarda Kuzey Afrika'da çıkan iç savaşlarda ve kabile savaşlarında 1 milyonun üzerinde insan ölmüştür.
