L'embryon, ou l'embryon ou l'embryon, est un être vivant au début du développement. La science, qui traite du développement embryonnaire, de la différenciation cellulaire et du système organique, est l'Embryologie. Chez les animaux, l'organisme, nouvellement développé à partir d'un œuf fécondé, s'appelle un embryon, tant qu'il est encore dans l'animal mère ou dans une coquille d'œuf ou une coquille d'œuf. Après la formation des organes internes - chez les humains à partir de la neuvième semaine de la grossesse - l'embryon s'appelle fœtus.
