Aramide
Les fibres d'aramide sont une classe de fibres synthétiques résistantes à la chaleur et fortes. Ils sont utilisés dans les applications aérospatiales et militaires, pour les tissus d'armure de balistique et les composites balistiques, dans les pneus de vélo et comme substitut de l'amiante. Le nom est un portmanteau de "polyamide aromatique". Ce sont des fibres dans lesquelles les molécules de la chaîne sont fortement orientées le long de l'axe des fibres, de sorte que la force de la liaison chimique peut être exploitée.
