QUE SIGNIFIE CONTINUATIVE EN ANGLAIS
Aspects continus et progressifs
Les aspects continus et progressifs sont des aspects grammaticaux qui expriment une action incomplète ou un état en cours à un moment précis: ce sont des aspects non habituels et imperfectifs. Dans les grammaires de plusieurs langues, les deux termes sont utilisés de manière interchangeable. C'est le cas avec l'anglais: une construction telle que "Il se lave" peut être décrite soit comme présent en continu, soit comme présent progressif. Cependant, il existe certaines langues pour lesquelles deux aspects différents sont distingués. En chinois, par exemple, l'aspect progressif indique une action actuelle, comme dans "il s'habille", alors que l'aspect continu indique un état actuel, comme dans "il porte des vêtements fins". Comme pour les autres catégories grammaticales, la sémantique précise des aspects varie selon le langage et la langue, et du grammairien au grammairien. Par exemple, certaines grammaires de Turc comptent les -yyor comme un temps présent; Certains comme un temps progressif; Et certains à la fois comme un aspect continu et progressif.
