La logique doxastique est une logique modale liée au raisonnement sur les croyances. Le terme doxastique dérive de l'ancien grec δόξα, doxa, qui signifie "croyance". Typiquement, une logique doxastique utilise 'Bx' pour signifier "On croit que x est le cas", et l'ensemble désigne un ensemble de croyances. Dans la logique doxastique, la croyance est considérée comme un opérateur modal. : Il existe un parallélisme complet entre une personne qui croit des propositions et un système formel qui dérive des propositions. En utilisant la logique doxastique, on peut exprimer la contrepartie épistémique du théorème d'incomplétude de Gödel de metalogic, ainsi que le théorème de Löb et d'autres résultats métaphoniques en termes de croyance.
