L'ascension de Pâques, également connue sous le nom de Rébellion de Pâques, était une insurrection armée organisée en Irlande pendant la Semaine de Pâques, en 1916. Les membres des Volontaires irlandais - dirigé par le maître d'école et le militant de la langue irlandaise Patrick Pearse, rejoint par la plus petite armée irlandaise de James Connolly, avec 200 membres de Cumann na mBan - ont pris des lieux clés à Dublin et ont proclamé la République irlandaise indépendante des États-Unis Royaume.
