QUE SIGNIFIE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS EN ANGLAIS
Cour européenne des droits de l'homme
La Cour européenne des droits de l'homme est une juridiction supra-nationale ou internationale créée par la Convention européenne des droits de l'homme. Il entend des demandes alléguant qu'un État contractant a violé une ou plusieurs des dispositions relatives aux droits de l'homme concernant les droits civils et politiques énoncées dans la Convention et ses protocoles. Une demande peut être déposée par un individu, un groupe d'individus ou un ou plusieurs des autres États contractants et, outre les jugements, la Cour peut également émettre des avis consultatifs. La Convention a été adoptée dans le cadre du Conseil de l'Europe et tous ses 47 Etats membres sont des parties contractantes à la Convention. La Cour est basée à Strasbourg, en France.
