Les sciences humaines sont des disciplines universitaires qui étudient la culture humaine. Les sciences humaines utilisent des méthodes essentiellement critiques, ou spéculatives, et ont un élément historique significatif - en se distinguant des approches principalement empiriques des sciences naturelles.
