3 CITATIONS EN ANGLAIS AVEC «HYDROGEN ION»

hydrogen ion.
The affinity of blood or pure haemoglobins for oxygen is a complex phenomenon, depending upon a number of conditions, the most important of which are temperature and hydrogen ion concentration.
We frequently define an acid or a base as a substance whose aqueous solution gives, respectively, a higher concentration of hydrogen ion or of hydroxide ion than that furnished by pure water. This is a very one sided definition.
Since hydrogen is a constituent of most of our electrolytic solvents, the definition of an acid or base as a substance which gives up or takes up hydrogen ion would be more general than the one we used before, but it would not be universal.

Temporary imbalances between the rates of production and consumption may
arise in health (e.g. the accumulation of lactic acid during anaerobic exercise),

Stewart's Textbook of Acid-Base
hydroxyl ion concentrations are always equal, so pure water is always acid-base
neutral, but its hydrogen ion concentration varies significantly with temperature,
from 3.4 x 10-8 Eq/Liter (pH 7.5) at 0 oC to 8.8 x 10-7 Eq/Liter (pH 6.1) at 100 oC.

Human Physiology: From Cells to Systems
Hydrogen ion secreted into the tubular fluid is eliminated from the body in the
urine. Hydrogen ion can be secreted by the proximal, distal, and collecting
tubules, with the extent of H secretion depending on the acidity of the body fluids.
