QUE SIGNIFIE HYPERTONICITY EN ANGLAIS
Tonicité
La tonicité est une mesure du gradient de pression osmotique efficace de deux solutions séparées par une membrane semi-perméable. Il est couramment utilisé pour décrire la réponse des cellules immergées dans une solution externe. Contrairement à la pression osmotique, la tonicité n'est influencée que par des solutés qui ne peuvent pas traverser la membrane, car seuls ceux-ci exercent une pression osmotique efficace. Les solutés capables de traverser librement la membrane n'affectent pas la tonicité car ils seront toujours dans des concentrations égales des deux côtés de la membrane. Il existe trois classifications de la tonicité qu'une solution peut avoir par rapport à une autre. Les trois sont hypertoniques, hypotoniques et isotoniques.
