Miscibilité
Miscibilité / mɪsɨbɪlɨti / est la propriété de substances à mélanger en toutes proportions, formant une solution homogène. Le terme est le plus souvent appliqué aux liquides, mais s'applique aussi aux solides et aux gaz. L'eau et l'éthanol, par exemple, sont miscibles parce qu'ils se mélangent dans toutes les proportions. En revanche, on dit que les substances sont non miscibles si une proportion significative ne forme pas de solution. Sinon, les substances sont considérées comme miscibles. Par exemple, la butanone est significativement soluble dans l'eau, mais ces deux solvants ne sont pas miscibles parce qu'ils ne sont pas solubles dans toutes les proportions.
