Maimonides
Mosheh ben Maimon, appelé Moïse Maimonides et également connu sous le nom de Mūsā ibn Maymūn, ou RaMBaM, était un espagnol médiéval prééminent, philosophe juif sépharde, un astronome et l'un des savants et médecins de la Torah les plus prolifiques et influents du Moyen Âge. Il est né à Cordoue, l'Empire Almoravide sur l'Eve de la Pâque, 1138, et est mort en Egypte le 12 décembre 1204. Selon la plupart, il est enterré à Tibériade. Le Centre du patrimoine de Maimonides a été créé pour commémorer son héritage. Il était rabbin, médecin et philosophe au Maroc et en Égypte. Bien que ses écrits sur la loi et l'éthique juives aient été reconnus et remerciés de la plupart des Juifs, même si au-delà de l'Irak et du Yémen, et il était le révéré chef de la communauté juive en Egypte, il y avait aussi des critiques violentes de certains Ses écrits, en particulier en Espagne. Néanmoins, il a été reconnu à titre posthume comme l'un des premiers arbitres rabbiniques et philosophes de l'histoire juive, son travail copieux constituant une pierre angulaire de la bourse juive. Sa Torah de Mishneh de quatorze volumes porte encore une autorité canonique importante en tant que codification de la loi talmudique.
