Glandes parathyroïdes
Les glandes parathyroïdes sont de petites glandes endocrines dans le cou des humains et d'autres tétrapodes qui produisent de l'hormone parathyroïdienne. Les humains ont généralement quatre glandes parathyroïdiennes, situées de manière variable à l'arrière de la glande thyroïde, bien qu'il existe des variations considérables. L'hyperparathyroïdie et l'hypoparathyroïdie, caractérisées par des altérations du taux de calcium sanguin et du métabolisme osseux, sont des états de fonction parathyroïdienne excédentaire ou insuffisante.
