QUE SIGNIFIE UNIVERSAL BANK EN ANGLAIS
Banque universelle
Une banque universelle participe à de nombreux types d'activités bancaires et est à la fois une banque commerciale et une banque d'investissement ainsi que d'autres services financiers tels que l'assurance. Ceux-ci s'appellent également des entreprises financières à service complet, bien qu'il puisse aussi y avoir des banques d'investissement à service complet qui fournissent la gestion d'actifs, la négociation et la souscription. Le concept est très pertinent au Royaume-Uni et aux États-Unis, où historiquement il y avait une distinction entre les banques d'investissement et les banques commerciales. Aux États-Unis, cela a été le résultat de la loi Glass-Steagall de 1933. Toutefois, dans les deux pays, la barrière réglementaire à la combinaison des banques d'investissement et des banques commerciales a été en grande partie supprimée et un certain nombre de banques universelles ont émergé dans les deux Juridictions. Cependant, au moins jusqu'à la crise financière mondiale de 2008, il restait un certain nombre de grandes banques d'investissement. Dans d'autres pays, le concept est moins pertinent car il n'existe pas de distinction réglementaire entre les banques d'investissement et les banques commerciales.
