La peinture à l'aquarelle
L'aquarelle ou l'aquarelle, également aquarelle du français, est une méthode de peinture dans laquelle les peintures sont faites de pigments suspendus dans un véhicule hydrosoluble. Le terme «aquarelle» se réfère à la fois au milieu et à l'illustration résultante. Le support traditionnel et le plus courant pour les aquarelles est le papier; D'autres supports incluent le papyrus, les papiers d'écorces, les plastiques, le vellum ou le cuir, le tissu, le bois et la toile. Les aquarelles sont généralement transparentes et apparaissent lumineuses parce que les pigments sont déposés sous une forme relativement pure avec peu de charges obscurcissant les pigments. L'aquarelle peut également être opaque en ajoutant du blanc chinois. En Asie de l'Est, la peinture à l'aquarelle avec des encres est appelée peinture à la brosse ou peintures. En peinture chinoise, coréenne et japonaise, elle a été le moyen dominant, souvent en noir ou brun monochrome. L'Inde, l'Éthiopie et d'autres pays ont également de longues traditions. La peinture à l'aiguille avec des peintures aquarelles est originaire de Chine.
